Hima's Mehndi - Peacock

The chosen theme for Hima and Yagnesh's wedding incorporated peacocks and peacock feathers, from their wedding invitation cards, table center pieces, wedding cake and even in the mehndi. Traditional mehndi designs usually contain peacocks but in a very detailed and traditional way. I wanted to use this traditional design but incorporate some modern elements and look at using just the peacock feather. The conception of these ideas came from Google searches and sketching on paper.

From sketches and inspiration from images of the peacock feather, I put together a design that incorporated traditional peacock designs as well as modern elements added by using just the feather.

About Mehndified

Mehndified is my passion, where I can share my love for art, mehndi and all things creative. Mehndified was born when I discovered that people appreciated my designs and wanted me to create designs that were individual and unique to them. I used to apply mehndi on friends and family, just because I enjoyed it and people liked being my guinea pig. I sat in science classes at high school doing mehndi for friends under the tables and behind Mr. Farrows back, although he could smell it a mile off but it helped that he had an Indian wife.

Over the years, the style of my mehndi has progressed from influences and inspiration.  I now specialise in creating designs and themes that are unique and personal to the client. With all clients, I have formed relationships through finding out their preferences and likes and dislikes, which is represented in a design catered for them.
